Collective Agreement Bcmea

The continuing dispute between the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union – Canada (ILWU – Canada) has led a BCMEA to issue a lockout notice to all Longshore employees covered by the bcmea/ILWU – Collective Agreement Canada collective agreement with effect from Thursday, May 30, 2019, 0800. The lockout does not include employees who must serve ships at licensed grain terminals and transfer elevators, but it will affect the majority of other bulk and container terminals in Vancouver and Prince Rupert. “We are pleased to have reached a provisional agreement with the ILE. We appreciate the efforts made by both sides to focus on finding an agreement and ensuring that BC ports remain open to shops. . . .
